Organizing and participating in the Nordic geo meeting at Hack4NO
I am organizing a meeting of practitioners of open geographic data in the Nordic countries. I seek support for travel and accommodation for myself. The project itself has/requires no funding and has not sought for funding at this stage.

Prosjektbeskrivelse

I am a co-organizer in the Nordic Geo Meeting. The meeting will gather volunteer mappers and practitioners of open geographic data across sectors: governmental, culture, humanitarian mappers. One of the aims of the meeting is to introduce the new mapping possibilities made available in the Wikimedia environment, and bring together a community of open mapping across existing communities in the Nordic region.

Prosjektplan

The meeting will be an ad-hoc gathering of the existing mapping communities. While this meeting is prepared with no own funding, the aim of the meeting is also to prepare a network project for Nordic mappers to meet and plan joint activities.

Kartverket is providing space for the meeting on the day before the Hack4NO hackathon. There are two parallel program tracks on the same day, the journalist meeting and a student session.

The preliminary program has been collaboratively planned in the planning document. Invitations will be sent to different communities and organizations to present and participate.

During the event, there will be time allocated for presentations, workshops and discussions.

In the following table accommodation is reserved from the previous day until the following day of the events, the Nordic meeting and Hack4NO.
